Olive is a British contemporary clothing brand with a big fanbase here in London. The creators of these comfy, directional and ethically-focused pieces are however, based in Cheltenham where their flagship store lives. Now, I don’t like to spoil the joyful surprises of Christmas day but I’ve been dropping plenty of hints in the lead-up to that day of gifting; suggesting a bunch of items from this fantastic little store.
Pulling together and combining vintage looks, street style, androgynous cuts and fabrics and presenting layered outfit ideas, Olive is everything I dream of when it comes to casual fashion and more realistically, struggling to dress myself every morning. Their outfit suggestions are inspired and always teamed with a little accessory or one of my favourite independent mags from their handpicked selection.
You’ll find the likes of Cereal and Another Escape amid faux-shearling jackets, eclectic denim and corduroy dresses and a mix of beauty and wellness products from the apothecary section. This not only makes my life easier for somebody like me, but makes for a wonderful lifestyle-led experience.
Forget pandering to the weird world of questionable trends. With a couple of men’s capsule collections containing only lovely-looking basics and a larger range of brilliantly coordinated womenswear with gender-fluid twists, natural palettes and minimalist silhouettes, this label is one I’ll return to for seasons to come.
While I’m on the subject of things I love, I might as well fill you in on Olive’s commitment to keeping their supply chains transparent, treating their suppliers fairly and attempts to source materials that are kind to us, to animals and to the planet. As you know, this is an ethos I’m behind all the way. Proof, if proof were needed that having style doesn’t cost the earth and doesn’t have to hurt anybody.
