Sketch London: Go For the Pink Velvet Interior and Stay for the Champagne Bar

If you haven’t heard of Sketch, you’re in for a bizarre treat. One of London’s more eccentric offerings, this Mayfair spot is a hit among fans of pastel pink, which is basically the entire blogging community of London under the age of 24, right? Comprised of lounge-style restaurant named The Gallery, filled with kitsch pink velvet seating and white tablecloths, the walls are lined with illustrations by one of my favourite artists, David Shrigley. Even the crockery is jazzed up with his signature hand-drawn messages and unnerving doodles. I love this place for its aesthetic — especially the giant egg…

What To Expect From Ethos: The Beautiful London Veggie Joint All Over Instagram

A secret garden in the heart of Fitzrovia, all-vegetarian spot Ethos is one of my favourite restaurants. A unique eatery with a bright airy interior complete with magical birch trees sprouting up through the floor, visitors are invited to serve themselves, piling plates high with veggie delights. Take plenty of photos — the curved wood-clad furniture catches the light beautifully, while huge windows let in the sun during the day. The vibe is minimalist and Scandi-inspired with lots of marble, warm wood and exposed bulbs. What’s on the menu? On the round buffet-style tables, you’ll find a mix of foods hailing from…

Bronte: A Restaurant Imagined by Tom Dixon And Loved By Bloggers

Designed by Tom Dixon and his Design Research Studio, Bronte is a dream. Picture lofty ceilings offset by pink concrete, teal and emerald-hued banquettes and signature metallic lighting in brassy and rose-gold tones. Strange artefacts offset the smooth, streamlined aesthetic in some areas, whereas in others, you’ll find nothing but soft velvet curves, hints of malachite and bright lights. Bronte is a luxe central-London joint, and it knows it. What’s on the menu? The standard fare is pan-Asian with sushi, dim sum and bao buns on offer. There’s a choice of not one but three ‘sushi pizzas’ and for the less…

EAT AT: 155 Bar & Kitchen

Perched on Farringdon Road, I love this place for its laid-back vibe, mid-century meets Scandi interior and tasty modern fare. Part of the Clerkenwell London group, 155 Bar & Kitchen gives the impression of a cosy design-led bolt hole. In fact, a nosey from the restaurant into the lounge throws up a much larger space to explore. The vinyl lounge is a scene straight from Don Draper’s living room, with low lighting and expensive-looking vintage chairs making no bones – this is as much a showroom as a cocktail bar. In the small restaurant itself you’ll find only a few tables. It’s intimate…
