A secret garden in the heart of Fitzrovia, all-vegetarian spot Ethos is one of my favourite restaurants. A unique eatery with a bright airy interior complete with magical birch trees sprouting up through the floor, visitors are invited to serve themselves, piling plates high with veggie delights. Take plenty of photos — the curved wood-clad furniture catches the light beautifully, while huge windows let in the sun during the day. Designed by Tom Dixon and his Design Research Studio, Bronte is a dream. Picture lofty ceilings offset by pink concrete, teal and emerald-hued banquettes and signature metallic lighting in brassy and rose-gold tones. Strange artefacts offset the smooth, streamlined aesthetic in some areas, whereas in others, you’ll find nothing but soft velvet curves, hints of malachite and bright lights. Why You Should Visit Harringay Local Store

Harringay Local Store is a rare gem. Their ‘Not Another Tesco’ slogan, and impressive collection of useful, UK produce holds the store up as a great example of conscientious independent shops popping up around the country. There’s quite a long list of things we love about this place, not least it’s honest, yet slightly tongue-in-cheek oldie worldie title.
